CoACH (Cooperative Automated Clearinghouse) is a payment gateway program unique to ACH Federal. It’s a cooperative ACH relationship between ACH Federal and our partner financial institutions. Partner financial institutions can enroll prospects (gyms, storage facilities, etc.) that can benefit from our ACH services. The prospect then becomes the CoACH bank’s customer. All revenue generated is shared between the CoACH bank and ACH Federal.
The CoACH process involves four entities: the prospect, the partner financial institution, ACH Federal, and the Federal Reserve. ACHFederal can serve as your intermediary to the Federal Reserve in case your institution cannot or prefers not to work directly with them. Likewise, your financial institution will serve as intermediary between the prospects enrolled in the program and us.
ACH Federal’s role in the CoACH partnership is to perform an underwriting procedure and present those findings to our CoACH partner. We will train and support the prospects you enroll, and they will use our system for all processing and operational functions. We will then bill these prospects and forward your institution its share of the generated revenue.
Your institution will evaluate our underwriting package and accept or deny the prospect. You will have complete oversight as to the type and volume of transactions processed, along with open access to the ACH Federal system for monitoring purposes. This system also allows you to terminate prospects for due cause, if necessary.
The CoACH payment gateway offers numerous benefits for your financial institution. Not only will you earn a share of all revenue generated from the transactions and file processing, but also reserve and clearing accounts for delayed settlements will be maintained at your institution. At the same time, you’ll generate a business relationship with the prospect, potentially leading to other banking services and new business.
